Window Service
Historic wooden windows get a second life - stripped to bare wood, prepared and repainted with Remmers professional coatings.
Wooden window restoration is our specialty - old wooden windows that have served for decades regain their original beauty and function. We strip peeling paint, treat the wood against rot and mould, fill cracks with professional wood fillers, sand to a smooth finish, prime and coat with the Remmers Induline system. The result - a wooden window that looks and works like new while keeping its historic character.
Why clients choose us
Every step of restoring a wooden window in chronological order - from the first inspection to reinstalling the fully restored sash in its opening.
We take the sash off its hinges and assess the condition of the wood, hardware and glazing.
Peeling layers are removed with scrapers and a heat gun without damaging the profile.
Damaged areas are cleaned out down to sound wood so rot cannot spread further.
The sill and frame - the most worn parts - are restored first with special attention.
The whole surface is sanded from coarse to fine grit until a smooth, paint-ready base remains.
Joints, knots and minor damage are filled with professional wood filler.
Once the filler is cured, we sand again - the surface must be perfectly level for paint.
We work with the professional Remmers Induline system - water-repellent primer and topcoats.
Primer and the first coat are applied in thin, even passes under the correct conditions.
Two more finish coats with intermediate sanding give a durable, even surface.
Hardware is refitted, the sash is adjusted and checked for smooth, hermetic operation.
The restored window returns to its opening - historic character kept, function like new.
